Drilling is where we made our mark in the industry. We specialize in contract diamond core drilling; both surface and underground. DJ Drilling offers extremely portable rigs for fly in helicopter-move situations. Unitized skid mount rigs are offered for road access and mine site situations. Large diameter core is offered for bulk sampling operations as well as difficult conditions. Our modern, robust technology is capable of “deep” drilling to 2000m and with the help of Jedway, our rig moves can be coordinated quickly and efficiently with the use of our own equipment.
DJ Drilling Equipment:
LF70 Hydrostatic Diamond Drill
The LF70 is a fully functional Diamond Drill that comes equipped with a large main hoist to allow the drill operator to pull in 6.5 meter lengths for bit changing operations. All drills are fully hydrostatic with 110 hp diesel engines and can be equipped with either HQ or PQ rotation units depending on application.
Its modular light weight design is easy to operate and capable of drilling to 600m. The LF70 was designed to be easily broken down into 300 to 400 kg pieces that can be moved with either 206, 206L, AS 350 or equivalent helicopter. Its modular design allows for quick, easy assembly and disassembly. Typical move time for drill under 1 km is less than 1 hour. These units can also be skid mounted in a fly-in scenario if required.
LF90 Hydrostatic Diamond Drill
The LF90 is a fully functional Diamond Drill that comes equipped with a large main hoist to allow the drill operator to pull in 6.5 meter to 9.5 meter lengths for bit changing operations. Because of its larger diameter pipe, this design is has proven to be easier on drill staff. The LF90 is a unitized skid mounted Diamond Core Drill capable of Overburden Drilling up to 100 meters NW and Diamond Core Drilling up to 700 meters NQ. It is typically moved on site with either Caterpillar type tractors or Line Skidder. Drill shacks are fully enclosed and can be insulated for winter work. Internal mud and fuel tanks ease the burden in cold weather.
AR125 and AR250
The AR125/250 is designed to be a specialized deep hole large diameter Diamond Core Rig. A robust design utilizing high quality materials and machining ensures excellent reliability. The AR125 is capable of Overburden drill in excess of 300 meters HW and Diamond Core drilling in excess of 2500 meters HQ/NQ and 2000 meters BQ. Operator comfort and safety are fully considered in Drill Rig and Shack design. All units are equipped with integrated drill head/pipe guards that meet or exceed all current standards.
The AR125/250 is a fully functional Diamond Drill that comes equipped with a large main hoist to allow the drill operator to pull in 6.5 meter to 9.5 meter lengths for bit changing operations. This design is also proven to be easier on drill staff as larger diameter pipe ( HQ,PQ ) etc does not have to be “man handled“ when making connections. Fatigue related injuries are minimized as a result. All drills are fully hydrostatic with 220hp to 300hp diesel engines and have user-friendly pilot operated hydraulic controls.
The AR125/250 is equipped with a very capable gear drive PQ rotation unit. A wide range of rotation speeds made possible by the extremely robust Funk gear box allow excellent overburden and coring capabilities.
All our drills come with approved First Aid Kits and Fuel/Oil Spill Kits. Safety and Spill procedures are posted inside every drill rig.
Operator comfort and safety are fully considered in Drill Rig and Shack design. All units are equipped with integrated drill head/pipe guards that meet or exceed all current standards. WorksafeBC approved fall protection points are integrated where appropriate.
